The Three Tuns Bransgore
Pub & Barn wedding venue in the New Forest
The Three Tuns pub located in the village of Bransgore (New Forest) is not only a very good classic pub but also a very good wedding venue. it is a grade 2 listed 17th century Inn so If you like things simple yet quaint and well managed then this is the venue for you. It’s is a small wedding site adjacent to (but also private) and everything is there that you need including toilets & a fully kitted out bar in the barn (as well as the pubs selection of real ales).
The wedding area next to the Three Tuns pub consists of a small barn and a slightly larger marquee. The wedding meal and the Three Tuns is often in the marquee but can also be in the barn. The barn area is used for the wedding entertainment usually from about 7-11pm so the DJ or band needs to set up, so the meal in the marquee is more practical for an all day wedding.
The space for wedding guests is small but very adequate at the Three Tuns. It has a courtyard area with seating & other areas on the grass. There are also a couple of safe fields for kids to play and also for you to get some wedding photography shots. Usually the speeches are after the meal and there is a bit of a gap – which is an ideal time for the wedding DJ or wedding band to set up their equipment.
The party usually starts around 7-8pm with the wedding first dance and runs up until 11pm. The fact that guests are close is good because they can hear the music and come in & do not get dissociated with it as they are a distance away.
All in all its a very laid back and fun wedding venue far from a more posh country house wedding venues in the New Forest, but it has a certain honesty, simplicity & local country class that is as far away from a local pub boozer or social club. The only draw backs I have seen is the main road is very close (so the gate needs to be closed if you have young kids), there is limited grounds & to some extent you have to share some of the site with the local pub clientele (as it has a large beer garden directly close to the marquee).
But its in a small village out of the way & attracts a lot of locals rather than tourists and city folk for a day out. All in all its a good pub in a good village and in my personal opinion – it represents one of the best value for money wedding venues in the New Forest.
