Montagu Arms Hotel – Beaulieu
Weddings at the Montagu Arms are simply lovely. If you are looking for a relaxed homely feel, with unrivalled service and attention to detail, then this is the venue for you. This is not the cheapest option for a wedding in the New Forest but if you want value for money, then the Montagu Arms is one of the best venues that we have worked at, especially if you go for the exclusive use option! Situated in the small village of Beaulieu, just a stones throw from Palace House and right next to the Beaulieu river, it’s a smashing place to get married. The hotel itself has quite a few rooms and there are a number of B&Bs, plus the excellent 3 star Beaulieu hotel a couple of miles away, so your guests can stay over and enjoy the party.
The Montagu Arms was originally created in the 16th Century as a local Inn for the Beaulieu estate, so it has lots of character. One of the main benefits is its beautiful enclosed gardens where you can enjoy your drinks reception in the sunshine under a very impressive Magnolia tree. Our advice is, watch out for the crafty sparrows when you have canapés! If you visit the Montagu Arms, make the most of the cream teas they serve, as you will get the best service and afternoon tea in the New Forest. The hotel restaurant boasts one of the few Michelin Star (and 3 AA Rosette) dining experiences in the New Forest, so the food is top quality. There is a pub next door (also owned by the hotel) if you want a simpler and more affordable option.
Wedding ceremonies at the Montagu Arms Hotel take place in the main dining room or the smaller room at the back of the hotel and are both lovely areas to get married. The drinks reception is held in the garden or in the lounge/ conservatory area and the Wedding Breakfast back in the restaurant. All of the weddings we have DJ’d or hosted at the Montagu Arms have been very relaxed, so if that’s what you want then this is the right venue for you. The evening party also takes place in the restaurant area and usually finishes at midnight.
